Brief:
Capture the flavour
Artisan Craft

The Challenge
Blencowes - Visual Asset System
for an Artisan bakery
Blencowe’s Artisan Bakery produces seasonal cupcakes rooted in craft, quality ingredients, and considered flavour combinations.
The brand required a coherent catalogue of visual assets that could
be used consistently across:
-
e-commerce
-
website imagery
-
social media
-
seasonal brand communications
The imagery needed to convey flavour, care, and quality without relying
on busy lifestyle scenes or inconsistent visual styles.
.

The Approach
The work was developed as a studio-based visual
asset catalogue, designed for long-term use and
seasonal refresh.
Visual Direction
A clean, restrained visual language was defined to allow colour, texture, and form to communicate flavour. Seasonal cues were introduced subtly through palette and styling, ensuring variation without breaking consistency.
Cupcakes were photographed in a controlled studio environment to maintain precision and repeatability. Lighting was designed to:
-
reveal texture and finish
-
emphasise colour and ingredient detail
-
retain clarity of message across different seasonal campaigns
Composition remained consistent across the range, allowing assets to work
together as a unified set.

Editing & Consistency
Post-production was treated as a critical part of the image creation process, ensuring the final assets accurately represented flavour, texture, and finish across both digital and print applications.
Colour, contrast, and tonal balance were carefully managed to maintain ingredient integrity and avoid artificial saturation. Texture detail was refined to enhance surface quality without compromising realism, ensuring products remained appetising and true to life.
Each image was processed to a consistent visual standard, allowing assets to sit seamlessly across:
-
e-commerce platforms
-
website imagery
-
social media
-
catalogues and brand materials
Files were prepared with controlled colour profiles and resolution settings appropriate to their intended use, ensuring clarity, consistency, and reliability across all brand communications.
By treating the photography as a system rather than individual shoots, the brand gained assets that remain usable, recognisable, and scalable over time.
